Topic Three: Rhinoceros, Part One: Survey Answers

Question 4 response:
A woodcut of a rhinoceros I prefer is the one made by Hans Burgkmair because he put
more detail and effort into realistically depicting the physical attributes of the Animal.
He incorporated fine points such as whiskers, hair, textures of the skin and the
shackles around its legs.

Question 7 response:

The depiction of the rhinoceros I found to be the most amusing was the Giovanni Penni Version. Compared to the other prints that came around that time, his is the most basic it can get. The print has just enough shape and detail for the viewer to get an idea of what it looks like. He focused more on the armor look and restraints of the rhino than the size and natural physical features.
